I have dark brown/almost black curly hair. It's like spiral curls but they're touchable and not frizzy. Unlike most people with curly hair, I really do like it. It's a few inches past shoulder length with three long layers. It's been this way for a while and I've been trying to grow it out for a few months now (obviously it takes a while with curly hair).
Since it's been the same for as long as I can remember, I've been thinking about getting bangs. My only concern is that it would look like a mess and I'd end up straightening it until the bangs grew out. Any advice? Maybe even some advice from hair stylists? Thanks in advance.

I have pretty wavy/curly hair and when I had them I just straightened my bangs slightly so they weren't too kinky looking and they turned out rather nice. Everyone always warned me against getting them but as long as your hair isn't super unruly and frizzy (which you say it's not) they will probably look nice, just make sure they're full and not just a few sad lonely strands of hair, because on curly hair the hair bunches together and you don't want your bangs to look super sparse if you're going to leave them curly and not straighten them.

As long as they are not really short bangs, they would look okay. Consider like cheek-length bangs. Also, check out pictures of Halle Berry from her curly hair days for inspiration.

They really wouldnt look right unles you had your bangs/hair straightend or permed.

If you learn to wear them curly, and cute that way which seems a bit hard lol, then it'd be great. straightening them day after day might get annoying and be harsh on your hair- if you don't need bangs to cover up a huge forehead, then i think it'd be easier to not get them.

Do you mean bangs that just hang on the front or ones you can part on the side etc? If you mean long ones so you can have for example on spiral hanging down and the rest pulled back etc..or parted on one side type of style i would say bangs are great! i have this style on my hair right now. It was a lot longer and i got it cut short, but kept the long bangs i waited for long to grow out. It does take a while for bangs to grow out, but the outcome is likely satisfying.
I had short bangs for years and used to curl them etc..and always wanted longer bangs for different looks. I finally let them grow out and got my dream hair!! There are so many things you can do with your hair with long bangs. So many awesome looks.
Short bangs mean getting your hair cut more often and doing more with them to keep them looking tidy, but it's your hair and your choice in the end.
Good luck in your decision making!

I have wavy hair, and I think curls looks great. I would reccomend having the front part of your hair trimmed below the jaw for curls though because they have a much stronger impact on your face shaping and the way curly hair goes is very unpredictable.
