my hair is a little farther than shoulder length when its straightend. when i wash it (it gets wet) it gets soooper curly and barely reaches shoulder length! it gets really short and by 20 minutes of being just wet it gets huge and poofy but still curly. its so hard to manage so i usually straighten it but this summer i want to figure out how to manage my natrual hair. how can i make it not so short, so that it dosnt spiral so much. and how can i make it not get poofy. gels? moose? products? tips? Anything!

i have the same problems you do

i am going to help you

wash your hair with sunsilk de-frizz shampoo(the de-poof doesn't work for me but you can try it)

put a detangler in it i use vo5 but its up to you

brush it really well

when it dries put AroPur hair polish in it (you don't need a lot, if you use to much it makes it greasy)

this helps so much with the frizz

if you have any other questions

e-mail or im me at lovelikewinter2008@yahoo.com

hope this helped

deffintately mousse .. tressemme works the best but any work fine.. they just have to be for curls and maximum hold just put some in your hair while its still wet and it will give you a more controlled look

I have the same problem. It is tough but its not like you can grow out your hair in 3 seconds. When I get out of the shower I keep combing my hair until it dries. when it dries it will be a bit straighter, and longer because you stretch it out longer. If you have a hard time getting the comb through your hair put some conditioner and humectris in to smoothen it out. good luck! :)

I apply a creamy leave-in conditioner (L'Anza Urban Elements leave-in conditioner) to wet hair plus a dot of TressFX gel from Ouidad. Ouidad has great hair products especially made for curly hair. Only available online though. I love it. They even have a heat and humidity gel.

I have the same kind of hair. What I do is after I wash it, I comb it straight out while it's still wet. I then put the back in a pony tail, pull it tight, and twirl it so it's like a little bun on the back of my head. I then put on a bandanna / "do rag", and let the hair dry naturally.

if you have loose wisps of hair when you put on the bandanna, use hairpins ... hope this helps.

too keep my hair manageable, i use a straitening texturiizer. Its a lot less stronger than a perm and it controls my hair. so when you go swimming and get out of the pool: not poofy. just to protect it put conditioner in your hair before you get in the pool.
