I want nice curly hair?

I was born with naturally curly hair but it didnt look good at all! It was so thick and poofy. My hair was even kind of uneven. Like some parts were curlier than other parts and it would frustrate the hell outta me.So I had been straightening it for a while to keep it more manageable.

I love curly hair, just not the kind I had. I only flat ironed it bcuz I felt like there was nothing I could do with it! I tried everything but my curls were just awful.

Is there anything I can do 2 get nice soft, bouncy curls?

Redken makes a product called Ringlet that keeps curls from getting frizzy. John Frieda also makes products that are sold at WalMart etc. They are more affordable. Use something that has an oil or petroleum base and it will keep frizz down and humidity out. Serums are great for that!

If you have an irregular curl pattern, which most naturally curly hair is, a perm to restructure the curl pattern is also an option.

First and foremost you need a good haircut. Find a stylist who knows how to cut curly hair properly. If you see someone with great curly hair ask her for the name of her stylist.

Second, condition your hair a lot and shampoo less frequently. Use a leave in conditioner too.

Try some anti-frizz products. I like the Dove mouse for curly hair, redken makes a good gel for curly hair and AG also makes a good gel.

You could get a perm for more even curls.

Also please remember product is very important when dealing w/ curls. Today there are sooo many products for controlling frizz. You should start w/ a good moisturizing shampoo, a hydrating or moisturizing conditioner. I would follow w/ a leave-in-conditioner. Than maybe a nice soft mouse (you don't want to use a firm mouse or gel because it will weigh your hair and also make it look stiff) After you get your desired look use a shine spray.

You need to keep your hair trimmed (maybe 1/4" off every 6-10 weeks)

I would try letting the hair air dry over blow drying, for the blow dryer tends to dry %26amp; damage the ends.

I have very thick hair that I use to get so frustrated with because of the humidity and it always would get so frizzy. I love Redken All Soft and Smooth Down hair products. The Smooth Down Heat Glide works great to tame it down and helps the curls look bouncy. Another product that works good (even though I didn't care for the smell) is Ojon products which can be brought from QVC.
